The Adventures of the Jammy Dodger by Melanie Roberts, music by Rod Parvess
RolesMinimum Male roles = 9. Minimum Female roles = 9. Minimum total with doubling = 23. Minimum total without doubling = 43. No chorus. The characters are a mixture of ages - children, parents and grandparents - but all intended to be played by children.

Around the World in Eighty Days by Richard Cowling
RolesMinimum Male roles = 2. Minimum Female roles = 1. Minimum total with doubling = 20. Minimum total without doubling = 54. Chorus. In order to be faithful to Jules Verne, most of the characters are written male. How you cast them is up to you! (For example, whilst it was not so in Fogg's day, the Reform Club is now open to women!)

StyleFull-length school musical based on Jules Verne's novel. By the nature of the story, there are a lot of locations, but these can be presented in as simple or complex a way as you please.
SynopsisPhileas Fogg accepts a wager to travel around the World in Eighty days. Armed with only Passepartout (his trusty French manservant) and pursued by a detective, he sets out, venturing via Egypt, India (where he acquires a princess!), Japan and the USA.

The Billy Goats Gruff by Sharon Stace-Smith

The script allows for multiple narrators, a chorus of courtiers and villagers and possibly an additional choir - thus the numbers are very flexible.

Brave Saint George by Kate Goddard

The script allows for - indeed, encourages - four different actors to play Saint George. Whilst many of the characters have a specific gender casting across gender would be entirely appropriate to the form!

StyleModern version of a traditional English mummers' play. Since such things were often performed outdoors, informally, there is no requirement for a set.
SynopsisSt George, a noble knight is keen to marry Princess Saffron and to show how brave he is. The King and Queen set him a test - to fight the toughest enemies from faraway lands. He defeats each enemy in turn - though each is brought back to life by a different doctor (a special character with a strange cure.) St George is, unfortunately, a bit of a big-head, and by the time he defeats the last enemy, the Dragon, Princess Saffron has begun to have other ideas about a suitable partner...

Caradog And The Celts by Penny Burns

Very flexible numbers, with groups of Celts and Romans of various occupations, and opportunites for singers and dancers. SynopsisFollowing the Roman invasion of Britain in 43 AD, the Celtic resistance was led by Caradog (called Caratacus by the Romans). The play dramatises the life of the Celts on what is now the Welsh border and the battle for the hill fort of Caer Caradog. (We are also taken to Rome for a meeting with the Emperor Clau-Clau-Claudius.)

Doggonit by Tim O'Brien
RolesMinimum Male roles = 0. Minimum Female roles = 8. Minimum total with doubling = 22. Minimum total without doubling = 30. Chorus. Since most of the characters are dogs, the gender of the actors doesn't really matter. (Most of their owners are female.) There is an optional, flexible chorus with various groups of dogs, owners and security guards.

But this leads to trouble for them both after a disturbance at Ms Nancy's School of Dog Obedience, leading to an encounter with the sinister Dr. Live - a wicked scientist with a mission to create the perfect dog...
