Barry Lambert Barry acquired a love of stage drama at the tender age of nine after being taken to Wyndham's Theatre in London's West End to see Ralph Richardson in Home at Seven. He became a regular theatregoer in his teens, but it was not until he was in his forties that he plunged into the world of amateur dramatics. When his attempts at acting, directing and all manner of backstage jobs were not met with universal approval, he decided that writing must be his forte, and at least eight groups around south east England were brave enough to produce his comedies. Never one to rush into things, it was another thirty years before he decided to submit some of his scripts for publication and late in 2018 Flatmates appeared on the Lazy Bee website. Now his published plays number almost thirty, and have been seen in New Zealand, Australia, USA and Canada as well as all over the UK. However, his quest for new plots was becoming ever more desperate. |
Amy Randall Early in 2024 Amy came to Barry's rescue and saved him from having to think for himself any more. As well as being a talented artist, working at a school for special needs children, and acting as a part-time carer for an elderly relative, Amy also finds time to serve behind the bar at Barry's local, and that special bond that invariably forms between the puller of pints and the drinker of pints (in the mind of the drinker at least) led to a collaboration, in which Amy dreams up intriguing storylines, entertaining situations and interesting characters (complete with personal histories) and Barry converts them into a feasible dramatic shape and supplies appropriate dialogue. A Therapist Unleashed is their first joint effort to be published and Perfect Storm (and hopefully many more) will soon follow. |
