About The author David Pollard lives in Hereford and is heavily involved in the local theatre scene as an actor and director. all of which led him to begin writing for the stage. 'Nobbo' which is now published by Lazy Bee Scripts was David's first play and has evolved through performance over a number of years. 'Illusion/Delusion' his collection of three one act plays followed over a number of years. David is now working on several parallel projects for the stage including some full length pieces.
David has recently been elected as Chair of Hereford County Drama Festival and is working hard to ensure the high quality of the Festival is maintained and enhanced. |
Appearances David among other projects runs a touring Amateur theatre company - Hand to Mouth Productions. With this company he will be touring a production of 'Illusion/Delusion' in April 2020 - the tour will visit Conquest Theatre Bromyard (17 April), Crescent Theatre Birmingham (18 April), Phoenix Theatre Ross-on-Wye (24 April) and Cotswold Playhouse Stroud (25 April)
David will also be promoting his writing by appearances during Hay-on-Wye Literary Festival (26 May at The Swan at Hay hotel), Cheltenham Literary Festival (3 October at St Lukes Hall, St Lukes Place, Cheltenham) and at The Crickhowell Festival in October. |
Non-Stage Writing David has recently also published a psychological thriller 'The Alienation of Ludovic Weiss' and a collection of macabre short stories 'His Cat and Other Strange Tales'
David is aiming to turn 'The Alienation of Ludovic Weiss' into a full length play in the near future.
David is a great fan of the short story which he feels is too often neglected. His influences in the field of short story writing are Saki, M R James and E F Benson. |
