Introduction From acting and directing to writing and arranging not to mention stage design and puppetry, Bart Lovins has done a little bit of everything when it comes to theatre. He has been praised by regional critics for his varied performances, hailed by New York critics for his directing and writing and been recognized nationally for his work as an arts presenter. |
Current Activities and Recognitions Bart is currently the founding director of the Hardin County Schools Performing Arts Center (The PAC) where his efforts to incorporate the performing arts as a teaching tool across the curriculum for grades K-12 as well as a method for community building have been recognized by the Kentucky Arts Council, the Kentucky Music Educators Association, the Barbershop Harmony Society, South Arts, the national Arts Education Partnership, the Kennedy Center for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. He also continues exploring other professional artistic endeavors including performing in Greater Tuna at Beef & Boards Dinner Theater, starring in The Santaland Diaries at Hardin County Playhouse, touring as “John Wilkes Booth” in To Bury Caesar, directing Grease for the Stephen Foster Drama, Inc. and is available for consultancies through the Kentucky Peer Advisory Network. |
Education Bart has a BFA in Performing Arts from Western Kentucky University with studies in Great Britain and Paris, interned at Stage One - Louisville’s Children’s Theatre and studied with Tim Conway, Tom Poston, James Kirkwood and the National Shakespeare Company. |
Affiliations He is a member of Actors Equity Association, Arts Kentucky, Kentucky Arts Presenters Network, Association of Performing Arts Presenters, is a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow, a Kentucky Theatre Association board member and a Kentucky Peer Advisory Network consultant. |
