As Story Producer and Director for BBC Radio 4's long running continuing drama The Archers, Dave pitched, researched and storylined the much acclaimed historic sexual abuse storyline. In other news he also blew up the Grey Gables hotel, killed Nic Grundy off with sepsis and decided whose marrow would snatch victory in The Flower and Produce Show. |
TV
Dave was a storyliner for EastEnders during the Who Killed Lucy Beale era and was part of the team that won two British Soap Awards for Best Storyline in 2015 and 2016. He pitched the homophobic murder storyline of popular character, Paul Coker and worked on Stacey's much acclaimed post partum psychosis plot.
Dave was also one of the writers recruited for the Hollyoaks online series around teenage bullying, wrote scripts for CBBC sketch show Class Dismissed and was one of the winners of the ITV1 sketch show, Shoot The Writers. |
THEATRE
A graduate of the Birmingham Rep Write Away scheme, Dave's short plays went on to be performed by Fractured Lines, Full Circle, Off The Fence, Actors Awareness, ADP, Two Butties Short and was selected for The Best of The Platform at The Bread and Roses Theatre.
As core writer for the award winning Laughlines Comedy Entertainment, Dave wrote stage parody tributes to classic sitcoms including Blackadder, Only Fools and Horses and The Vicar of Dibley. He was a finalist in Playwrite at The Little Theatre, Hebden Bridge as well as Menagerie’s One Page Play Competition and had work showcased at The Kings Arms, Salford, The Hope Mill, Manchester and The Curve Theatre, Leicester. His dark comedy thriller, The Killer Question is due to tour the UK in 2020. He is a proud member of Cucumber Writers and also runs writing and story workshops in secondary schools as a Lead Writer for Writing West Midlands.
