One-Act Plays
Writer, actor and director Martin Sims wrote his first one-act play The Highwayman in 2022 and his second Straight to the Top in 2023. He has been writing scripts for over thirty years and his credits include Week Ending, BBC Radio 4 and Hale and Pace, London Weekend Television. He co-wrote and directed three series of Bits From Last Week’s Radio for BBC Radio 1, presented by Greg Proops, and The Nescafe Big Red Mug Show for Virgin Radio, presented by Paul Ross.
He has written and directed over a thousand radio commercials, winning Mobius, London International, Aerial, New York Festival, D&AD and Creative Circle awards, and worked with many of the UK’s most high-profile comedians and actors including Stephen Fry, Dawn French, Ricky Gervais, John Cleese, Hugh Laurie, Benedict Cumberbatch and Daniel Craig. As an actor he has appeared in feature films and over 75 TV commercials, he even appeared as a Gelf in the Red Dwarf episode Emohawk Polymorph II.
