What's an Interactive Murder Mystery? |
- A combination of drama from an acting company and detective work from the audience
- In this case
- The acting company performs two scripted scenes, during which, a murder takes place.
- The cast are taken off to be questioned by the police and meanwhile the police's evidence is shared with the audience by means of a series of written briefs.
- The audience interrogate the cast (amongst whom only the murderer is allowed to lie!)
- After the audience have made their guesses, the murderer is revealed in a scripted summary from the investigating officer.
- This Mystery Needs
- An 'acting company' of 7 to 8 people, including at least 4 men and 3 women
- One set comprising furniture and flats with practical doors/windows
- Estimated run times (which may vary enormously!)
- Scripted elements: 25 minutes
- Audience interrogation: 20 minutes

What's the Mystery Here?
An emergency board meeting is taking place for the investors in the Cod Save Us chain of fish restaurants. Assembling, we meet:-
Rob Cockyn a businessman of dubious morals.
Frances Drake the biggest investor in Rob's business. The company secretary.
Jenny Wren A close friend of Frances, who has sunk most of her inheritance in the company.
Gus Hawke A former shop owner, persuaded by Rob to back his venture.
Jack Dawe A big investor facing bancruptcy.
Kitty Wake Jack's parner,
When the acrimonious event leads to a murder, DI Peregrine Falcon is called in to investigate.
(There is also a need for a Master of Ceremonies in a non-acting role.)
Has Rob's business had its chips? Will it flounder? Are all the fish puns just red herrings?
