Aesop's Famous Fables and Twisted Tales by Peter Nuttall

All Is Not Lost by Nicholas Richards
RolesMinimum Male roles = 1. Minimum Female roles = 1. Minimum total with doubling = 17. Minimum total without doubling = 29. No chorus. Most of the characters are written male, but really it doesn't matter. Characters are a mix of ages, so could suit a mixed age company.

Caesar and the Pirates [Full Version] by Nicholas Richards and Timothy Hallett
RolesMinimum Male roles = 9. Minimum Female roles = 1. Minimum total with doubling = 18. Minimum total without doubling = 29. Chorus. Flexible - the pirates roles could easily be shared by a smaller number and other doubling is possible. On the other hand, there is scope for pirate and soldier chourses. Only one specfied female role - Venus! - but others could be cast female.

Don Q And His Squire Sancho by Dick Caram

Alonso Quixano is obsessed with tales of chivalry. So much so that he believes himself to be a knight - Don Quixote - and he sets out to seek adventure, with a peasant farmer, Sancho Panza, as his squire.

SynopsisSt John Carrington de Beauville has forgotten to book his family's summer holiday, a problem solved when an elderly aunt grants St John's children ownership of the remote Scottish island of Gallinsay. But Gallinsay is already inhabited by a commune of enterprising young pioneers who wish to escape modern society, and is also the target of a pair of geologists hired to search for gold.

Henry and the Rocket by Eseld Swift

In the Lap of the Gods by Philip Bird (music Isabelle Michalakis)

The characters are a class of schoolchildren, divided into four groups. Each group acts out Greek myths. Whilst some of the characters in the myths have a specific gender, this need not be the gender of the actor.

StyleA one act Renaissance-themed school play with music.
SynopsisA troupe of re-enactors assemble in a small town to stage their annual Renaissance Fair - just as contractors with the Dept. of Buildings arrive to announce plans for the sale of the land they are on. The narrator arranges a stay of execution and the show, featuring an archery contest, juggling jesters, a jousting match and not one, but three rival queens, can go on. When the contractors return, (with donuts to share), the actors make their sad goodbyes and exit. The clever Narrator, however, makes a discovery that saves the Renaissance Fair and brings the charming village of Notting-Sher-Wessex-Wood back.
