Synopsis
:
A story (based on a local tradition) of Catholicism in the reign of Elizabeth 1st. The Jesuit priest, Edmund Campion pays a clandestine visit to Hoghton Tower in Lancashire with a young Will Shakespeare in tow. They observe the life of the house as the new lady of the manor tries to marry off the daughter of the previous lord.
