Synopsis:
Susan Trent, a woman in her seventies, looks back on her childhood in post-war London, and the friends she loved - and hated. Her childish love for Stanley endures throughout her life, despite an early tragedy. And her intense rivalry with Stan's older sister, Sandra, will probably never be resolved.
